I love Eames chairs! I own 2 fiberglass chairs and wish I could get an Eames desk that I saw in a museum in Denver, I'd so happy! Thank you for posting this very RARE interview.

I still love Eames chairs. Beautiful and stylish, decades on!
"Home" was way ahead of the curve...the set revolved, and had numerous bells and whistles (including simulated weather). And so many "firsts" - the first network show to use a "monkey" style camera, which did sweeping overhead shots; the first "magazine" program, with varied subject matter; the first to do "remotes," and the first-ever female editor-in-chief of a TV show, Arlene Francis. Very significant, groundbreaking program!

I love the interview style,a bit stiff and awkward but spot on regarding the design aspects and as mentioned POLITE
Just how does the interviewer remember the quote at the end of the clip?

At 3:40 it gets pretty marvelous looking for a morning chat show.

Just bought one...oooh I feel part of history now. I was waiting for Sgt Bilko to come out from behind Ray. Hubba Hubba...

I am doing a paper on Ray Eames, and i wish that she had gotten equivalent credit to that of her husband

Reportedly, the inspiration for the lounge chair was a well-worn leather baseball glove which translated into something familiar, soft yet firm, comfortable, and ready to "catch" the person sitting down in it. Brilliant concept and execution, as per usual for the Eames.
I like how they were polite. Now people are just assholes.

Thank you so much for posting this. Here we have two extremely talented, brilliant people who gave us so much in the field of architecture and furniture design. I bought my Eames Lounge Chair years ago, and no other chair has ever been more comfortable, a tangible tribute to the Eames' genius. Thank you.
