I joined an american motorcycle forum last year and I thought they were joking when they said they carried a weapon. I could never shoot someone and live with myself and thats coming from someone whos been in the army. I dunno how americans can justify having a gun on them (other than for transporting it maybe).

@simon44 I know you guys get a lot of fear mongering going on, but remember that GUNS are inanimate objects. A gun is neither good nor evil. A gun is just a tool.

PEOPLE are good and evil. If you don't think I'm an evil person that is out to harm you, and I'm not sure why you would, you shouldn't really be alarmed by any tools I carry. Hope that makes sense. =)

@SV650ben If you ride a motorcycle and have a CHL permit, how else are you supposed to transport it? Are you afraid it would go off in a fall? Not possible with most designs. =)

@CriSoldier Depends where you are in America. In California its a pain to get a gun but say Texas its a lot easier.

@simon44 Nah I'm sure you would, it's called self preservation, that's part of human nature. When fear and adrenaline kicks in and you go into a heightened combat mindset, all those morals and ethics go out the window. And that's not only for protecting yourself, but your friends and family as well.

@breethwithme Great comment man, I can't agree with you more on the second amendment. Louisiana is very lax on the firearms, I just recently bought my Rock River Arms AR-15 at the Gun and Knife Show in Kenner LA, and I LOVE IT! And I'm not even a resident, but being military, all you gotta do is show your orders stating that ur stationed in Louisiana and that's it!

@simon44 Well look at it this way... a criminal ambushes you and his intention is to rob you and (or) KILL you regardless of any attempt of negotiation. It's either you or him ending up in a body bag. Or another scenario, a psycho decides to go on a shooting rampage in public area (they DO happen in America, look what recently happened in Arizona) everyone is unarmed, except YOU! You have the power stop him! 95% of all crimes can be ended without even firing the weapon. That's how I justify it!
