Alec Woletz, a fifth year architecture student, spent a semester abroad, studying in Denmark, at the Danish Institute for Study (DIS) Abroad. He immersed himself in Danish culture; he travelled widely around the country, and went on many trips. Classes were hands on, and emphasized learning outside of class;
For instance, he took a class on the design of public spaces, and each week they'd walk outside and see and study the spaces.

He also travelled to seven other European countries including France, Spain, Holland and Sweden with his sketchpad and journal; he kept a daily journal of his days and sketched buildings and streetscapes.

(Alec adds that he might not have sketched everyday but he did write in his journal everyday. He also wanted to thank everyone at the Albert Dorman Honors College at NJIT for preparing him for his semester abroad.)
