Imola, and Hockenheimring were 2 great circuits destroyed because of the threats that the FIA made.

Note this half-auto gearbox!
Before the chicanes he preselects the gear he will use with his left hand...when he hit the brakes the gearbox drops down to the preselected gear whith out the risk of gearing down to fast/slow or selecting the wrong gear!
Thankfully they are banned now!

Does anybody know if the curve at 0.55 is the Oestkurve? They added a chicane there after Patrick Depailler fatal crash in 1980.

@schroeder1112 I've seen it my friend, there's also a photo on wikipedia. How stupid and hypocrites was herman tilke? he had to cut thousands of beautiful trees to make the "new" track and he left the old part (which is much smaller) to come up against this loss. Double failure, he destroyed the old track and made an ugly abomination and he also destroyed a big part of this beautiful forest..
