This is part 2 of 4! When I was a kid, these recordings were my first sounds I heard from a reel to reel. I had the original tape but it was lost years ago. Fortunately, I made a recording (very bad, I just miked the playback recorder!) but its better than nothing. I only had two wollensak recorders. The recording was in stereo, so I only go the left channel. Can you tell me the name of the orchestra playing these tunes? Id like to be able to find the orignal LP that these came from. I know the original reel I had was recorded in 1970, I know the names of some of the tunes, but dont know any of the groups playing them. Your help is appriciated in pinpointing who is on these recordings!

  • Thanks Chad. It does sound like enoch light. I have many early enoch light stuff, but dont have much from the mid-late 60's. I'll check into it. Thanks for pinpointing the name for 5:56. Ive heard it many times on AM 1480 over here, but they always played it just before the top of the hour, so it always got cut off for the news and I never heard the name.

  • The 4th song is The Love Nest, I previously thought it was A Banda (both featured on Herb Alpert's Ninth).

  • I used to know A guy that had a later sony reel to reel with a wood front [I have a wollensack that looks like a refrigerator and an akai ] I found some tapes of jazz at the philharmonic in the garbage .

  • The "Tea for Two" number is actually a medley of 5 songs. I don't recognize the 2nd song. The 3rd is "Lady Be Good," heard at the end of the previous video and beginning of this video. The 4th song starts at 1:05 and I'll remember the title as I drop off to sleep tonight. At 1:56 is "Sometimes I'm Happy".

  • 5:56 is "When I take my sugar to Tea"

8:28 is "Love is just around the corner" The funny thing is that I have both of these songs on a 45 EP but they are a different arranngement. I wonder if this tape is from Enoch Light and the Light Brigade?
