It's too bad donating blood is a great thing to do. but on the other hand Red Cross is ran by menopausal meg la-maniac morons.

I donated the other day. I fugured by this time next year or a little after that I will be at my 2 gallon mark. I asked my dad in June how much he has donated and he said probably 5 or 6 gallons so far and he is the reason I donate because he always has done it plus he also said it would be great to have the organ donor symbol on my license so I do that too.

It doesnt hurt even when the needle goes in, it just feels hot when the needle goes in and when it comes out you just feel a little spot of pressure, they'll tell you that , also that technician idiot didnt know which vein to use....fool , "I should be in there?" owwlll - stupid.

It only hurts when they insert the needle. Once it's in you can't feel it. Do you mean after the needle is taken out? It only hurts maybe a minute at most.
Really, the worst part is overcoming the fear of the big needle. The actual donation is really easy. In fact, I finally got my iron levels up and am cleared to donate again. I'm hoping to do so Saturday after next. :)

It only hurts when the needle goes in. Then you can't really feel it.
Are you the one putting the yellow cake on or donating? Can you donate platelets?? Have they ever asked you? I donate platelets ever 7 days. More of a demand. I read where you can donate only 24 times a year. I want to do it 100-1000 times a year, if it can save someone, thats what I care about. I really don't care if I get sick, just want to help someone. I remember one time this old man was donating, he farted real loud and we all heard it. Nurse removed the needle and asked him to leave.

I'm donating. I simply don't have the time required to donate platelets and don't know if I could handle a couple hours with a needle in my arm. I simple can't spare two hours 24 times a year. I give whole blood but not often because I am prone to low iron.

Omg that needle was huge! I've never given blood but had blood drawn. Maybe they use different size needles

The blood donation needle is larger because you are giving a pint and not just a vial. Giving blood really isn't that bad. It hardly hurts at all. I wish I could give more often. :)
