read dvd key from xbox 360 lite-on (74850c fw) drive without soldering

According to the Jungleflasher tutorial this is now considered a "legacy method" to get the drive key since there is a different way to dump the entire firmware, so I'd check with the tutorial before actually doing this since it's outdated.

hey bro thank you for getting back to me soon. i will mail this video link to the modding guy ... and see if he got any idea abt this .... wat he said was that he can dump the key from the rom abt its the wrong key ... and wen he flashed it the games r not working (play dvd )error ..... and he is saying that there is NO way to recover the original drive key !!!!! its a 9435 drive. he tried it wit a new dvd drive but still it say play dvd error ..... it wont even work wit original games....

@wicksen As far as i know, if he flashed the drive without saving the orignal firmware and key then that's true, theres no way to get the key back. Also the 94350c drive cannot use this method of key extraction like in my video, only the 74850c can. You should try reading the jungleflasher tutorial

hey got a xbox 360 120 gb . the guy who sold it to me he had try to flash the dvd rom and lost the key i didnt knw this . after i got it only i got to knw this wen i wen to get it flashed .... do you thing you can help me out here

@wicksen If he flashed it correctly the key should be in there. or if he still has the file he flashed somewhere that would have the key. the jungleflasher manual goes over most situations. You only need to do the "tray half open" trick, like in the video if you have the old lite-on drive with the old stock firmware anyways. I'd try to find out what drive firmware is on there now and reference the jungleflasher manual.

make sure the drive is half open and you are touching the probe to the correct point and your serial port is com1. theres a few other examples using a ck3 on youtube too.

hey every one im trying to flash my lite on DG_16D2S_09C FW:93450C im not using a connective kit im powering the drive with the xbox and connected it to the pc with a sata cable and when i try to extract the key it says serial data is bad please help

hi got a seven series need to get key how tred makin home made probe got a ck3 but it not got a probe how can i get this to work? some one says can just use a flat head screwdriver on points but thought it had to have power plz help PLEASE!!!!!!!

im selling home made usb probe to do this type of drives(74850c) + full instructions on how to do it using the xbox to power up your drive at ebay for 14.99$, so no need for the ck3 thingy. search for my seller id on there (ghanimali)
