Together -- National Geographic, the IPCC, the UN and the UN Foundation -- have produced a new short film outlining the facts, showing the impacts and providing a way forward in combating catastrophic climate change.

Watch this call to action for world leadership on climate change. It's a moving tribute to the UN scientific reports that erased any doubt over global warming's existence, and helped shove climate change to the top of the international agenda.

You imply that you have a sufficient grasp of climate science to critique those that do the research and complete the studies. Unlikely you do. It is only rational to recognize one's limitations, and of course, strive to overcome them.

The fact is that most climate science is NOT based on computer models. Well before they existed one of the first studies for the WH was completed by NAS. Read it on the net.

  • whether it's true or not, will it hurt anything to harness natural energies such as wind and solar?

the problem lies in that we KNOW burning oil and coal are more harmful than helpful in the long-term and yet we do little to counter it.

arguing about what is and isn't true is irrelevant. this is an issue of what is and isn't beneficial.

  • @rugbyguy59 No evidence you say, there are thousands of scientists on my side what have you got. The UN and a lot of corrupt institution's that are on the global warming gravy train, climate gate and Mann's hockey stick graph, all fraud's. As for the UN they need a new way to fund itself so what better way than global carbon tax. Now your going to say I am talking for the oil companies or I am stupid for not believing in man made global warming, that's what alarmist say, like nazi bully boy's

  • @vmgqie The MWP is neither here nor there. Most likely a small increase in global temps due to increased solar radiation. Ocean currents redistributed heat so some areas like Greenland were similar to today and other areas much cooler. So what?

Why do you think you know more than the experts? You make confident predictions that go against the science without any evidence

Just because you don't like a proposed solution isn't evidence the problem isn't real

  • @rugbyguy59 what about the medieval warming period. The earth systems are not as fragile as climate alarmists have you believe. The earth will carry on even with a bit more co2 in the atmosphere without mass extinction, without massive ocean level rises and all the other disasters, that's just all to scare us into handing over more taxes.

  • @vmgqie Propaganda? Your claims are the propaganda. The earth doesn't "compensate" when CO2 rises. It warms. You're strange ideas about CO2 fails to account for the big changes in CO2 levels over time. Polar Bears, as we know them only evolved a few 10s of thousands of years ago. They've never been through a warming that will take away their entire habitat. The UN leadership mentioned in the video is the IPCC which has been extremely successful. Unless you believe fossil fuel propaganda.

  • this is united nations propaganda pure and simple. ok if there were more volcano's and co2 rose due to volcano's, mother nature would compensate. it wouldn't be the end of life on earth. there were warmer times in the past, life survived polar bears didn't die out. so what the fuck is the panic . oh and you hear at 053 seconds under united nations leader ship, the UN can't take care of wet dream, if we have to rely on the UN to save us were fucked well and truly

  • More evidence/impacts of climate change series..(please read article before the denier with all the sock puppet accounts censors it)..

We are running out of time to combat rising CO2 emissions: Earth’s forests are dying. It’s time to embrace innovation and George Bernard Shaw’s dictum: “Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.”
