Thanks to Tuppenfall for reminding me that two Tyranosaurs give more experience than the Brachosaur. It's two levels of difference, but if you do something, gotta do it right... right?

This video shows the biggest possible level leap in Final Fantasy III/VI (SNES).

Two Tyranosaurs give the most experience in the game (17600). With an Exp. Egg (Growth Egg in the GBA version) Relic equipped, the number becomes 35200.

The lowest level a character can enter World of Ruin is level 6 (Terra, Celes, Edgar, Sabin, Shadow, Relm, Umaro and Setzer). Make sure one of them has the Exp. Egg equipped and survives the battle, and he/she will gain 17 levels, leaping from lv. 6 to lv. 23!

ATTN: If you have the GBA version and are willing to show the level leap from defeating a Glutturn (much superior to the biggest leap in the SNES version, but I've never tried it), go ahead.

ATTN2: Note that EXP. Eggs do *not* stack.

  • i think you can get into a pincer with 2 brachosaurs, but im not 100% sure, if so it would be extremely rare since brachs are rare already

  • @BigFatSponge

    From Djibriel's FAQ:

    Forest:

    Tyranosaur (10/16)

    Tyranosaur, Tyranosaur (5/16) (fixed Pincer)

    Brachosaur (1/16)

  • this isnt the biggest possible lvl leap in ff 3 its in the river right after u get to the raft on the river with a turbo controller hit the loop and get turbo button held and wait for like 2 and a half weeks possibly 3 and every char will be lvl 99 except for Locke before the first time u fight ultros

    in one battle

  • Question, why not use the arena to get a second exp egg, and thereby gain an aditional boost in exp? Or is there code in place to prevent additional gain from a second egg equiped?

  • @GunslingerBahamut

Multiple EXP Eggs do not stack.

  • @DdragonforceF There's a specific low level strategy. It mostly involves abusing Gau because he can be "removed" from the party in the Veldt so level averaging doesn't count him and ruin your levels. He can also get a few rages that are very strong without needing levels. Combine that with Mblock bug later in the game (128 mblock = dodge anything that can be dodged) and there you have it. Only absolutely required exp gained.

  • @RunescapeChode912 Plus you wouldn't get any Esper stat boosts from leveling :(

  • @Tarion666 Min-maxing, too. For optimum stats, each character needs as many esper-boosted level-ups as possible. Plot-induced level-ups don't get Esper boosts, and characters are forced up to the party average when they rejoin in the WoR. So, the idea is to keep levels low until the WoB 12 are all in. It adds >10 stat points per character, which especially helps any 2-stat characters (i.e. Gau).

It might make more sense if FF6 ever got a (better) remake with (better) bonus bosses.

  • @Tarion666 It's a challenge, people try to beat the game using low level characters...if you beat the game countless times using level 99 characters you get bored so you decide beating it with only one character, or low level, or no magic, etc...

I'm not one of those people :)

  • @RunescapeChode912 fail...
