This engine designed in house or an adapted road engine.?Will probably be v heavy but the torque should make it shift.

This is the world's most powerful diesel outboard. It makes 230 horsepower @4000 rpm and has common-rail injection.

regular outboards are already expensive...can't imagine what this might cost, especially since it is a relatively new application for an outboard

@borgey420 Not everyone likes the redneck sound of a diesel and a turbo.. i know its the "in thing" but i dont like it.. its what makes the world go round. everyone is different..

@benjenings if you don't like the sound of a diesel then you've got issues. but the weight issue does suck i agree there 100%.

MaritimeEngGrp, there has been a lot of hear say on the comments on this video, so why don't you come out and answer the questions that are asked. How many horsepower, how much torque, how much does it weigh, and about how much is it going to cost to buy one?

@dander545 I bet it doesnt get as good of fuel milage as you think. plus the weight! prob weighs upward to 1000lbs!! And for any reason it did get better mpg it would equal out from the $5/gal diesel prices!

this engine weights 827 pounds
