Suzuki SV1000 vs Hayabusa -Just how much faster is the Busa?

http://www.FullTiltLife.com and the Kings of the Street Part 2 DVD match the benchmark Suzuki Hayabusa with a 1000 cc twin, the SV1000. This bike was a messenger bike with 100,000 miles on the clock. Fair fight? Perhaps not, but interesting to watch. Keep in mind the SV would blow a Harley Davidson's fringed handlebars off.

The SV1000S is more of a sportbike. The Hayabusa is a sport touring bike- longer, heavier... OBVIOUSLY the Hayabusa is faster in a straight line. A lot faster. But I don't ride on a race track. My SV1000S goes 0-60 in under 3 seconds and has a top speed of... I don't even know. So the Hayabusa's extra power is pointless for me. For an all around every day bike, I wouldn't trade my SV for anything. Nothing wrong with the Hayabusa, I just don't see the point in comparing two bikes so different.

@hateutubepolicy About 170mph INDICATED.Actual top speed verified by gps or radar is in the150mph range.Most if not all speedometers lie(they read optimistically).NOT trying to be a wise ass here,just trying to give you the straight facts.

@spynonu You're right.And on a track,a sv 650/1000 with proper suspension mods will literally run rings around a 'busa,but as you stated,would be totally shredded by the 'busa down the 1320.

"300cc more and it just leaves the SV in it's wake" Really, I would have thought the extra CC's would weigh down the bike, I wonder how thy busa one? It must be magic...
