Her voice that first invited me to hear opera early in my teenager, and because of her nowadays I like a lot of opera !

I'm really glad I found this clip.  Firstly it is one of my all-time favorite soprano arias and matched with one of my all-time favorite sopranos. Madame Caballe's technique was as infamous as her pianissimi - spot on every time. Oneguin65 - thank you very much for your diligence in posting these great clips - I sincerely thank you.

I've noted in various arias, of various operas, that while Caballe is always AMAZING, especially floating high notes, that she often completely leaves out consonants of entire words on high phrases. Here I could not make out at all "novo" nor "morir." Sure, that is done. Often for example in Boheme the high

"c" generally does not get the word "amor" pronounced. It's a necessary technique. But

I think here, not being that high an ending, it was not necessary. I still adore her voice a LOT!!

Não sei se vou conseguir me fazer entender, porque vou tentar exprimir uma sensação que a Caballe me transmite:

ela é maravilhosa, sem duvida, mas...

tem momentos em que parece que ela decidide ser ainda maior do que já é e, quando isso acon tece...

ela realmente fica insuperável.
