The Designline Eco-Saver IV Hybrids will be going to Michael J Quill Depot. 5 will be running on the M42 along with some other routes.
A 35ft version of this bus was tested and it was successful, hence allowing the order of the new Designline buses.
About 30 or so buses will be at MJQ with the possibility of knocking off some of the TMCs that they have. Only up to 8 buses will be here by this year and running in service.
Engine and Transmission specifications are as follows
Capstone C30 MicroTurbine
Bosch Rexroth 120kW Traction Motors
This is by far the most quiet hybrid out in service today. The Orion VII OGs & NGs are noisemakers compared to these buses.
More videos will come as soon as I find out where else it runs! Stay Tuned!

@Caitsith810 The Citibus' dont have the "Please exit through the rear door" announcement when a stop is requested? Its only the Orion VII NGs?

I'm not a big fan of these whirling electric motor sounds nor the high frequency whine that's constantly present....
I hate to admit it, but i genuinely miss the good ol' diesel rattle and automatic transmissions... not the new CVTs they use on all the new buses....

The issue with New Flyer was they refused order for 50 High floor 60 foot buses in 2005, also refused Miniapolis transits order also. It was New York City transits fault why. If New york City transit had ordered 25 more of these buses 1997 to 2002. 125 in 2004. 125 in 2004. Bought 50 40 foot high floor buses 2001 to 2004 New Flyer would of kept making them. Demand would of been there. They could of been used on busy routes in Brooklyn such as the B44, B52, B35, 5th avenue bus. 7th avenue bus B11
