Peter Garrett from Midnight Oil appears on Australian chat show The Panel in 2000. The topics of discussion include conservation, the forthcoming Sydney Olympic torch relay, and the current Oils album "The Real Thing".
Following the conversation Garrett is joined by his bandmates for an acoustic rendition of "Short Memory", originally from the album "10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1".
Peter Garrett is now Minister for the Environment, Heritage and the Arts in the Australian Labor Party Government. Interestingly, regular panellist Kate Langbroek's brother John-Paul is the leader of the Liberal-National Party of Queensland.

@TheBrightpower He obviously wanted to join a party that could actually get into Government, where he could actually have a say and try to influence the Government from within. This sellout claim is just from Liberal voters or people who know jackshit about how politics works. If he'd joined the COALition, that would have been selling out.
