erm..not exactly. There are no compressed gasses in the tube at all, that hissing noise is air filling the tube. This tv has anti-implosion glass, older tvs would implode so voilently that glass shards would go everywhere and cause alot of damage, what he is doing is in fact very dangerous. The tubes on these tvs can hold electrical charge for upto 3 months after being switched off, he would have got a nast shock from going near the tube affer breking it
i cracked the screen on our old tubed T.V. with a hammer and then it made a sound like gas was comming out of it then the screen started cracking more. Was that like gas or something or just like compresed air? Please reply

At around 0:17 you will notice a hissing sound, That is the special compressed gases escaping from the cathode-ray tube.
