thanks, thought that may be who it was. funny how some sounds dont grab you as a kid, but you tune into them later one. Don is one of those. also loved Hanks fiddle player. my first one of those was Hank Snow fiddle player. just discovered Bobby Hicks. wish i could jump through my screen and sit under him to hear it in person. dude named don helms. he died a few years back. i remember hearing it on the radio a few years ago. he played with several other big name country artists as well. hes one of my favorite steel players, along with hank 3 steel player, andy gibson UP THE IRONS FROM LOUISIANA
