Emerging Opportunities in Biotechnology by Renee Winsky

The Johns Hopkins Center for Biotechnology Education hosted a panel discussion on the Emerging Opportunities in Biotechnology. The speakers provided updates on the latest advances in the pharmaceutical industry, bioinformatics, marine biotechnology and the job market.

Renee Winsky, Chief Executive Officer, Technology Council of Maryland

Renee Winsky is the CEO for the Technology Council of Maryland, which includes MDBIO. Prior to joining TCM as CEO in September 2009, Ms. Winsky served as President and Executive Director of the Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO), a public instrumentality established by the Maryland General Assembly to promote economic development through the development, transfer and commercialization of technology. Ms. Winsky was responsible for all operational, staff, technical, financial and program functions of the Corporation. Ms. Winsky serves as a Board member of the Chesapeake Innovation Center, the UMBC Research Park Corporation, Leadership Maryland, and the Maryland Health Care Product Development Corporation. Ms. Winsky also serves on the Executive Committee of the Technology Councils of North America (TECNA). Ms. Winsky is a graduate of the University of Maryland and a graduate of the Leadership Maryland Class of 2005.
