Grow it Global project | Send a Cow | DFID

Grow it Global is project that was funded by the Department for Internatinoal Development. It has taken thousands of children out of the classroom and onto UK farms for practical, fun sessions on sustainable living and food issues in the UK and Uganda.

During their Grow it Global experience, children meet farmers (and when possible, visiting Ugandan farmers) on UK farms that have built mini Ugandan farmyards. The farmers get children involved in practical tasks around food and sustainability and demonstrate African gardening techniques that are easy enough for children to adopt at school or home. Teachers have access to resource packs so that pupils can then go on to learn more about the lives of children in east Africa and build their own African gardens.
