  • To make this clear, this is not jazz, it isn't even jazzy. This is pure blues.

  • John is a great blues player...period...!

  • @Hoepkoen blues. blues blues bluesy?

  • is this a cover?

  • what key is this in?

  • I wish he would stay on the blues side of the fence more often.

  • @SmokeTheJeffrey first of all.. great username. but JM is (obviously) a huge Strat guy but he also plays Gibson's. his most recent album uses a lot of gibson. (e.g. Gibson SG on Edge of Desire) However, he always has been and probably always will be a strat man. But, it'd be hard to get a tone like this with a strat. You'd run into something similar if you used the bridge pick-up, but it wouldn't be this.

  • @TheYoupi1997 he plays Martin acoustics.

  • @teunisry he actually uses all kinds of acoustics. he likes to play guitar

  • @TheYoupi1997 he actually uses Martin acoustics

  • @SmokeTheJeffrey he uses Fender Electric guitars and Gibson acoustic and half acoustics

  • @Hoepkoen You have it backwards, but yeah they have a lot in common. But if its guitar you can usually assume blues, its certainly the basis for rock. Jazz guitar is really fun though, something to experiment with- check out Steve Vai or Joe Satriani they use a lot of jazz scales.
