I've played Shenmue 2 and Skies of Arcadia (on XBOX and GC, respectively).
Both of them had far lower polygon counts and texture resolutions than any good PS2, XBOX or GameCube game, and their lighting and particle effects were either basic or nonexistant.
Compared to Final Fantasy X, Crimson Skies, Metroid Prime or even a multiplatform game like Prince of Persia or Metal Arms, the best Dreamcast games look incredibly basic. It's like comparing Far Cry to FFXIII.

I prefer the Dreamcast, with its crisp, colourful graphics, to the PS2 and its washed out blurry textures.
Le Mans 24 Hours has 5 million polygons, while games such as Quake III, Shenmue 2, Skies of Arcadia, and Sonic Adventure 2 boast texture detail on a par with the Gamecube and some XBox games.
