I have never seen Reed with such...short, neat hair!
-
I was lucky enough to see him and actually meet him. He was a special guy. Actually very shy and introverted. A genius...just like Roger Miller. BTW...I think Dolly wanted Jerry all to herself! Sorry Porter!

Wish I could have seen him live, rip son.

Wish I could give a better rating than 5. He deserves so much more......
LEAP CHILDREN LEAP!!!!

That's an entertainer. You just can't take your eyes off that man when he was on stage or screen.

May this clip serve as an epitaph for Jerry, and never be taken down from youtube ..
He wrote the tune. Brilliant especially on the second verse, when he's preaching, doing his comic thing at the same time ... a recitation kinda off-the-beat but not missing a beat in his guitar playing ... wow what an entertainer!
I TIVOed months ago off P Wagoner show, then burned to DVD for posterity ... it's a special moment IMHO .. Jerry will live on as folks discover him ...
Forgot to say .. after this performance Porter mopped his brow in mock relief and the audience let out a "whooo" ... the most awesome audience response I've seen on the P. Wagoner repeats that have been running on RFD TV the last two years. Well deserved for a special cat. Keep picking, son .. leap children leap!
(BTW I forgot Gene Vincent did Jerry's "Crazy Legs" on his immortal first session along with Be Bop A Lula, Race w. the Devil etc...."
