This is a new boat in San Francisco from New Zeland. A really nice small sport tri and hopefully they will build a bigger one soon as this is a fast, easy and extremelly fun boat to sail. The kite pole happens to be off these shots but it does come standard with one. This was shot in Richmond bay part of San Francisco bay.
I love Hobie 16s but this boat is just so damn beautiful. I feel like a Hobie traitor now.

Wrong! A brand new 16 is $3500 less. I just spent time checking both boats out.

No way! I spent some time researchng and looking at the Weta and saw one sailing against a H16. The 16 sailed circles around it.

hi jdigitydub- with all due respect- i have sailed hobies and they are not as fast as a weta---this boat is planing...the cat might have an edge in light airs..but not in a good blustery day...peace

looks pretty bad ass... and jdigitydub... a NEW hobie 16 cost just as much or more

Why would I want that for $12,000 when I could pick up a Hobie 16 for $1000 and it's twice as fast, parts are available in the US and has a large fleet to sail against here in SF?
