  • Fantastic video! Some call them Ferratelle as well as Pizzelle. Is your family Abruzzese? My granny was so we make them, as a matter of fact, my mom made them yesterday! So good, some people her put Nutella between 2 of the pizzelle. Must be good! Thanks for posting it.

  • Yes....Abruzzese on my father's side.

  • I don't know where you live in Italy, but it certainly does exist in the part of Italy (Abruzzi) that my grandmother came from.

  • @lcostigliolo Ahhhhhh.....Sambuca!

  • When we say the word "pizzelle" it is the plural form of "pizzella". Thought you might want to know this. Ciao!

  • Hmmm your batter seems a lot thicker than ours for some reason. I'll have to see what different with it. =)

    I'm from Florida, but my grandfather was born and raised in Villa di Serio. We make these every Christmas! Sooooo good! =}

  • i forgot that we also add the zest of a lemon!!!

  • Hi, i live in Italy and my mother is abbruzzese from Ortona, is nice to see that many italians abroad have kept the tradition! There are different sizes of irons to make pizzelle in abruzzo, and depending on the shape you get a different thickness, the thicker pizzelle tend to be softer and usually heart shaped. The only difference with your recepie is that we use extra virgin olive oil instead of vegetable one, we add half a glass of Sambuca liquer and we don't put any backing powder:-)

  • Pizzelle + Nutella + Pizzelle = ECSTASY :)

  • Thank you for showing us how to make them and the the way to make them.

  • Big batch.. :)

  • wow i just found your videas and im happy that i did. i am now going to hunt down the special pizzelle iron (is that what its called?) to see if i can make these, looks soooo yummy, thank you so much for sharing.
