the first GAMING SYSTEM that used CD's was the SEGA CD which came out since 1991 after super nintendo

SNES,sega genesis are 16-bit
PSX (which is PS1) sega saturn are 32-bit
N64 is 64-bit
dreamcast, gamecube,PS2,xbox are 128-bit
xbox 360, wII, PS3 are also 128 bit but with more advance processors

@sjogosPT no the very 1st cd based games was the PC-cd engine that was since the early 90s + you got the SEGA CD which was an add-on to the sega genesis that came out since 1991 after snes came out
