  • @MadFaceGriptape

That's only true for the California version. This is the Florida version. An official reason for closing this ride was never given.

  • @sn9696 cuz it was set on fire

  • @KyFriedPlatypus That's good news for sure. Knowing Universal though, they might take it down in the future and add something bigger and better to compete with Disney. I don't really see how he can demand to keep it there, does he have rights to the ride?

  • @SGarv04 Thankfully, we won't have to worry about that anytime soon since Spielberg had mentioned how the ride was "sacred" to him, therefore demanding that universal keeps it.

  • @KyFriedPlatypus Oh good to know. I first visited the parks in the late 90s so I always kinda thought Twister was an original. But that's a shame, hope they at least save ET!!

  • @SGarv04 Technically, ET is the only TRUE original left. Twister opened in 1998, and Earthquake was replaced with Disaster (which is nearly identical to Earthquake, but with a few new elements.) in 2008.

  • @WiiFolderJosh I would like that too, but rides like this and Jaws are too expensive to maintain. They had their share of rides, it makes sense to save money by replacing it with something that is more new/exciting and cheaper in the long run. The only originals left are like ET Earthquake and Twister right?

  • @SGarv04 How about NOT replacing rides and instead finally expanding the park and mixing classics with new.

  • although it was a good ride, it was obviously a good decision to replace it with the Mummy.

  • this tour guide sucked
