improvisation no95 - Ballade of Sincerity

Hello everyone! I had my senior composition recital on Thursday, and it went wonderfully. Only a few more weeks until graduation - it all has gone by so fast! Anyhow, I hope you guys are doing great.




My inspiration for this improvisation was a fight I had with a good friend, and this was my way of letting out all of my sincerest feelings in music to show my apologies. There is a basic motive in the piece, beginning on these four notes at 00:24.

B, C, D, B

Or in solfege Ti, Do, Re, Ti.

This motive is nearly present throughout, and is goes through many transformations, and modulations through different keys.




The piece itself starts off in A minor, and eventually by the very end of the piece, there is a huge D major cadence representing a resolution to my situation with my friend.
