  • I have done some tests with a kitchen island of a different color, by creating the island in a different file and setting the unique colors, then importing the island skp file into the main kitchen skp file, sketchup creates materials with new names "sdFaceD1", "sdEdgeD1", etc for the new materials. These new materials can then be updated differently from the main kitchen materials, maybe a solution?

  • I truly appreciate the effort you put in to make and upload these quality videos. I have just discovered SketchUp's Dynamic Components and SketchData components, and I am thrilled by these new features.

I have a question regarding bitmap materials. From what I have noticed, when you change the SD materials to bitmap images, all dynamic cabinets get modified. What if the model has more than one style of cabinetry? Do you then just change other cabinets' material manually?

    Thanks.
