In this video I show you the Photoshop perfomance of larger files (over 100mb), Sketchbook Pro on the slate, and further screen comparisons.

  • What is your big computer called???

  • @diZZybomb6789 Cintiq 21 UX powered by i7 920 4gb ram

  • Thanks so much for doing these videos. Very helpful! I'm wondering how much of an issue you consider it not having hotkeys while using the slate. I'm considering getting one for photoshop, sketchbook pro, and zbrush use, but I could see not having access to keyboard shortcuts being a major drawback. Manageable in PS or SP but probably a dealbreaker for ZB. Any thoughts?

  • @ChipMidnight check out my review (link in details) for more info on that. overall, its a tough call. not having a keyboard is only half of it - not being able to stand the screen upright easily is another. it really is a question of what you'd bedoing more- drawing in screen on using hotkeys. ill put up a vid about this soon

  • Can you rest your hand or your little finger against the glass while drawing, as you can do with a Cintiq?

  • @tuftmeili yes. the touch is disabled when pen is in range. the opposite is also true, so lifting the pen 3 inches away from the screen while resting your on the screen will force your hand to be recognised

  • You're using an outdated cintiq

  • *-*

  • @Illztothathrillz we must find a name for this function lol, it brings so much confusion

  • @Capeau lol -- I'd still buy both one for home biz, the other for traveling...

  • @Illztothathrillz THANX for a solid, intelligent comparison. I've check'd uTube & vime0 & blogs to find affordable, good quality art/sketch tablets & this looks sweet.

I've used many WACOM products over the yrs (did CG + 3d work bak in the day) & they're good; yet WACOM seems to have an "all or none" pricing mode. Studios can afford CINTIQs but 4 freelance-home & the real world (which is not delicate), it seems sensible 4 the average artist (especially kids) to buy a tablet like this ASUS.

  • @Capeau -- exactly!!! Who says "i7" and "not powerful" in the same sentence. Does he have a loaded G5 mac somewhere we don't know about?! hahaha. My 1Ghz Atom LS800 is "not powerful"

  • @andrefantastisk

how did they grew from 90 megabytes to 1 gigabyte?

Reason to make money with hardware companies.

    I'm gonna use 7.0

  • Thank you very much for the informative side by side comparison.

  • I have a big problem with Cintiq,

there is a hidden shortcut in photoshop (alt+[ or ]) that cycle through layers. When I'm doing digital painting, I use Alt a lot, to color pick a color from my painting. But the keys [ and ] are set to the slider... so it would chance the brush size... but sometimes I end up pressing alt and [ together and without noticing it I end up painting in the wrong layer....

Any idea how to solve this?

  • @DuskTillDrawn No such animal...it costs money.
