I think if our queen, Queen Emma had won against Kalakaua during the royal election Hawai'i would have had a much stronger tie to the United Kingdom, protecting Hawai'i from American influence. It was Kalakaua who favored America, which ultimately ignited the ticking bomb that led to Hawai'i coming under possession of the United States.

I'm a proud Hawaiian and I believe that Hawaii belongs to the Hawaiians. The people who betrayed Queen Liliuokalani are just complete idiots. I think of Queen Liliuokalani as a proud Queen of the Hawaiian Islands and gave her people the best she can. She gave the Hawaiian children a place where they can call home, treated everyone like her own child, and let the Hawaiians and Asian power to run the Hawaiian kingdom.
