I agree that is an easy to bandwagon to jump, and many people do, but that's not the only reason people like them and consider them such a good band. They made such a large impact because during the time period of their prime, they were new and fresh, and a change of pace for the American music consumers. Not to mention they were incredibly talented in the fields of song writing, lyricism, and convey meaning.

I had a music teacher in the third grade who was obsessed with The Beatles, and could make a reference for anything to them. I heard this song, and thus decided popular music was lame and that I liked these guys better. Thank you, Mr. Jenkins.

same here. I 'discovered' them 2 months ago and I feel so stupid for that. but now I can listen to them all day!:)
