So her name is Esien or Essien GREAT! There are ALSO a lot of Ghanaians who bear that name (and probably even some ivorians). It's safe to say that this is a GREAT example of African's being ONE! @Thejoecross Essien is both a Nigerian + Ghanaian name, they have the same spelling but completely different meanings in Fante, Ga and Efik, they are pronounced differently aswell! I've never seen Essien spelt with 1 S in Nigeria, my surname is Usoro Essien and all other Nigerians I know with the name spell it with 2 S. Besides, the Ga people historically used to live in Nigeria before they migrated to Ghana...so who knows
