  • The canterbury chimes in the middle of the video are different than the ones played by "the clock" at the end. Was one version phased out at some point?

  • I It may have been hand played for the video and not the same as the clock would play, and or edited different.

  • Hentschel movements are either Hermle of Kieninger. Both are very reliable but both hang their tubes by wire instead of string and this causes vibrations to feedback into each other and the chime rack and the sound is not as clear. The Kieninger comes the closest to what Herschede made in appearance. Both current movements will give excellent service. Nobody makes a Dial (clock face)Like Herschede. Keep in mind too, Hentschel is just a cabinet maker.

  • Grandparents Want to Have A Grandfather Clock It Will Be Antique

    Hershede Triple Chime

  • How sad that this seems like watching people on another planet, as today today everything is Made in China out of the cheapest materials possible.

    Great video.

  • I have 3 herschede grandfather clocks, one of them is the exact same model as your 1984 last production model, except mine has the three vial pendulum. It is a great clock! mine is very dark for a #250, its from 1965 or 1966 according to various sources and the original bill of sale that i have put it as having been purchased new in 1968

  • there are not short cuts we get it dam!!!!!!

  • I have a "The Clock" from the 1960's, My mom left it to me. Its in immaculate shape, mechanically and cabinet wise, Also have the Herschede that the video states that Mr. Herschede had in his house. The face is much bigger than the "the Clock" and the cabinet stands at least eight feet tall. It came out of Michigan, I was told, and I purchased it from a gentleman here in Az. I had it rebuilt by a gentleman who worked for Herschede.

  • I have 3 Herschede tubular bell clocks. They are very special instruments

  • probably just needs clock oil
