Tallulah Bankhead, singing "Prisoner of Love" in the early 30s, from a commercially unreleased recording. Remastered and cleaned. Tallulah, who had famous pitch problems (probably something to do with the alcohol and nicotine that lacquered her tonsils), sings this straight and is rather touching. More often when she sang she sent herself up (since she knew she would be sent up anyway), maybe this being private she could risk sincerity. She was a gifted dramatic actress, though in her later career that was lost to the self-parody she made so famous on her "Big Show" radio show. Remastered by Tormented Artist Ink Studios (me, John Ellis).
