It's a play Wofford's Stephon Shelton would like to forget. A kickoff by Northern Iowa's Tyler Sievertsen is fielded by Shelton in the end zone during a Division I-AA playoff game on 12-3-11. Shelton never ends the play by taking a knee or giving the ball to the official. Zach Cutkomp of UNI knocks the ball out of Shelton's hands and Phil Wright of the Panthers recovers for a touchdown. It turned out to be the winning score in the Panthers' 28-21 win at Cedar Falls, Iowa.

  • @joshkelly1226 Since when are refs supposed to hide the fact that a ball is live?

  • N. Iowa didn't even know the ball was live until the ref blatantly gave it away by running and staring at the ball.

  • It reminds me of Jim Marshall when he ran the wrong way and scored a safety on a fumble and that's ALL he's remembered for... not remembered for once holding the record for most consecutive starts EVER by a player, or for forcing a fumble that won the game for the vikings the same game he ran the wrong way, he's just remembered for that :/ now Shelton joins him

  • @aleandroid86 you never know if someone can just come outta nowhere

  • No discipline. What an idiot.

  • Looks like there is a Wofford fan that disliked this

  • Epic fail

  • I know this guy and unfortunately as good a player he is people will always just remember this. We are all gonna have our faults, and unfortunately his happened on this stage.

This mistake was made by a Division I football player, for an outstanding academic school. Seeing as how he is smarter and more talented than you, what would your mistake have been?
