**Check out our blog: http://mylittlestsweetpea.blogspot.com/ Our one year old daughter has classic PKU (phenylketonuria) and has to have weekly blood draws. The blood draws are not the same as a diabetes blood draw. We prick our daughter's heel and fill a special paper with the blood. The blood is then sent to a medical clinic, where her phe (phenylalanine) levels are checked. This sample taking went pretty smooth. Trust me, our daughter is not usually this calm and compliant!

I only saw 1 concern and that's wiping the first drop of blood off with what appeared to be the alcohol soaked cotton ball. The reason the first drop is wiped off is to remove tissue fluid and alcohol residue. I would use a clean cotton ball or gauze for any wipes after the initial stick. All in all it was a wonderful video! You are doing a great job and she's such a sweet baby! My heart goes out to you and your family.
