I served in Iraq with one of the Wanat dead, Jason Bogar. He believed in what he was doing, and that it was the right thing. He was a hell of a soldier and a good man as far as I know him. We miss him, those of us that know him. But I see nothing but money in these wars. Someone is making a profit, or these wars would have ended long ago. But I say even if we were fools and believed we were fighting for freedom, we fought for something worth something to us.

I guess those who hate America and American soldiers will always be there. I can only say that if you hate us for doing what is right, than what does that make you ? Our soldiers ARE the BEST of the Best and they will fight the Taliban and their evil cohorts . To the terrorist idiots who think their asses do not stink , most Americans are hunters or gun enthusiasts , you fuck with us and your ass gets a load of lead. I believe we will win in Afghanistan even because of our stupid decisions to defend an area like Wanat. The remaining members of the chosen few will see to it.!They do the impossible, they are THE AMERICAN SOLDIER, They will retaliate and The Taliban will pay a price that they did not expect !

Those officers should have been given a mortar team and sharpshooters to put on the high ground. Asking them to fight in a shitty spot, giving the enemy all the high ground and all the routes of re-supply except the air is just asking to get fucked.

Why do some people think that withdrawing troops is the same as ending the war? It isn't. The troops could be withdrawn and the enemy will continue on planning and executing violent acts against us---but we would be out of position to do anything effectively against them.

Yes, yes, you are right. We (I am Japanese US resident) do everything we can for us to win wars against terrorists, Chinese communist, Russian mafia, North Korea, Iran if they mean they want wars. We will win!

sgusomusa, yes, my heart goes out to these young men died for protecting us. However, the best is to pull our troops out of two wars. American public does not tolerate war goes beyond 7 years. Boots on the ground has limit to it. We have to think how to contain the terrorists and use more intelligence for covert operations. Thank you for your support for our troops.
