the number is their ID number. the number goes in order of when they were built. Oh yeah, my bass is number #917 NOT #953!

important info about the preamp pickups not physically being in the shell. It certainly does make a difference and is noticeable compared to before Bartolini redesigned them. Compare the two and decide. The new version takes away from the MTD siginature sound. More midrangey IMO and tougher to EQ out. Sometimes its better to leave what works alone instead of changing something because its easier to build. MT didnt change anything in his design but the new Bart system is less desirable.

I seen it on Norms bass dvd's and have been obsessing over this bass ever sense. I think it may be in reach around 2/09. I have only found the blueburst at bass central. Anyone have further info on where to find one? Much thanks for any reply's to this inquiry.
Norm actually let me play this bass a year ago. I was the only one to show up for a bass clinic (the church forgot to advertise it). Norm is one of the nicest, humblest, coolest bass players ever. Check out his DVD's, he's great. That bass is the smoothest bass I have ever, EVER played! I could play stuff on it that I can't on my bass. He is not kidding when he says that. I played his new jazz bass style one too. The green one is awesome!
