Honor Flight is a non profit organization created to honor America's Veterans for all their sacrifices and Southwest Airlines has the privilege of being the airline of choice for the Honor Flight Cleveland Veterans.
Every third Wednesday of each month these Veterans board flight 2065 from Cleveland to Baltimore/Washington and spend the day in Washington, DC visiting their memorials. Then, as quickly as the one hour flight took them to DC, the last flight from BWI to CLE brings them home.
This Wednesday was extra special as it marked the one year anniversary of the flight. The festivities included a special pre-flight ceremony in which Honor Flight Cleveland and Southwest Airlines received proclamations from Cleveland Mayor Frank G. Jackson's office and, as the Veterans taxied to the runway, they were sent off with a special water arch shot from the Cleveland Fire Department's water cannons.
