Here is an opportuinty to hear Sauer in an extended work by Schumann: a slightly abridged version of his "Carneval" op.9. The recording was made in c.1923.
he plays as he respires, great interpretation close to schumanns intentions.... the way he choses the tempi is very interesting. this piece is often interpretated too static. we should come back to this style of interpretation
