Instead of trying to make it seem all horrible , why don't you try and help?? Fight so we can get some community centers for the kids , so they won't be on the street. Fight so that the city can come and fix some of this stuff. There are two colleges near this neighborhood so it's not that bad. The "higher ups" so busy doing their dirt and trying to cover it up , they try to make things that happen around that area worse than it seems. Also There wasn't even anyone outside so it was stupid

I'm a 43 year old white woman. Raised my family just fine here(17 years now). Never been mugged, nor had my home broken into. This video drives by my street.(yes, it's mostly a black neighborhood, is that's what scares you?)
The Area HAS been neglected & has it's bad seeds, as do many areas. If you're not looking for a confrontation, the boogie man usually doesn't come out looking to get you. :)
I'm sure our new Mayor will help with the blight, I have lots of faith in Sarno, he's a good man.

What alarms me is the gang activity, actually. I believe there are at least two, if not three, street gangs operating in that 'hood. The cops actually stopped me on one of my walks and advised me not to carry around camera gear.

What an ass hole u picked the worst street in spingfield to show people. If your so scared take the long way around bitch. How about you show people 16 acres or coloniel estates where its nice instead of showing them the abandoned houses which every city in the us has.

That's high. Springfield has one of the highest murder rates in the country for a city of its size. Like it or not.

Actually the murder rate in springfield is 11.9 per 100,000 residents. That ranks it 82nd in the country. Sprignfield was ranked in the top 20 most dangerous based upon other factors such as auto theft and rape. Please get real facts before posting comments based on nothing but perception.
