An amazing lightning storm passed over the GTA on August 24th, 2011. According to local reports, there were approximately 1,000 strikes every two minutes. Thanks to the research of Tom A. Warner, we now understand that our video is evidence not of downward strikes hitting CN Tower, but of upward lightning emanating from CN Tower. Generated most likely by preceding flash activity within the storm, the CN lightning is believed to be "lightning-triggered lightning".
