The Pigs:Youthanasia + They Say:Bristol 2009 punk

Anticipation..Atmosphere..Excitement....and that was just the soundcheck!!
The long long(32 years)awaited return of one of Bristols first punk bands THE PIGS.
And what a return it was,23 minutes of pure punk with an authentic 1977 sound,no Marshall stacks for these guys,the power was all in the playing with the choppy guitar playing staying especially true to their one and only EP,and it all worked beautifully,rumours that this was just a one off gig will hopefully be proved unfounded and more gigs will follow.
This gig was filmed at the Thunderbolt,Bristol 12th September 2009.

@nrjan Yes,its a tricky record to find nowadays though it can be found at record fairs in the uk for about £10-£20 though I reckon its worth more...got 3 copies myself and they're not for sell either,ha.They played another local gig last weekend and they were superb again,they've got one warm up gig in July before they head off the blackpool for the punk festival which they're very excited about.

@nrjan yep,Bristol managed to help/hinder many a punk band back in the day including vice squad,disorder,amebix,chaos uk,lunatic fringe,pigs,cortinas. A frontal kiss from becki...lucky fella!

Incidentally both the bassist and drummer of vice squad was at this gig.

Wow! Of all the bands you'd never expect to find on youtube! These tracks still sound as good as the EP! "They Say" sounds better than the original...wish I saw this...

Yep,this was their 1st gig in about 30 years and they did sound pretty fresh,it was more an event than a gig. They've been booked to play REBELLION in Blackpool 2010.

Awful band. Their "Youthanasia" EP is boring pop rpock dreck with neo-hippie lyrics. Can't believe this crap is called punk. And now they look like a bunch of old preppies. Absurd.
