During the Santa Pod Mini In The Park day on the 15th of August, these guys ( contact classiccartrim@bronzart.info ) fitted a window really in no-time. I'm not connected to them, but I will have them do my interior when needed, as they were both quick, professional and passionate about their work. Specially have a look at the fitting of the windscreen filler chrome finisher joining clip. After half an hour, I gave up, but they do it under 30 seconds! After seeing this, I could fit it in a minute!

  • Twisting the (by the way, it's a 'filler' tool) handle, you risk damaging the edge of the strip. The movement should be long and straight - achieved by elevating the handle to make the leading angles of the 'eye' flat and level with the recess.

  • @GlasstecAutomotive: Thanks for the feedback and additional tip! Very much appreciated.

  • This can be a frustrating and annoying thing to do for the first time, but a little perseverance and some soapy water with the right tool, you will get there in the end, note how the person in the video is 'walking' the tool, IME this is the only way it can be done and if little bits of the strip are still above the lip, then they can be teased in with a blunt screwdriver being careful not to pierce the rubber. It's satisfying to do things like this yourself!
