A little song that I have loved for a long time about a man who just can't get the woman he truly loves for what ever reason. If you like this song, you owe it to yourself to have a listen to teledude1972, sillywizard and newfiefidder's version of this together. They did a fantastic job and it sounds great!
First heard this sung in a Manchester pub (Tommy Ducks). There were only 5 people there and an old lady asked for this song....then cried like a baby all the way through! A touching moment. Well done ;- Alan.

The first time I heard this song was in 1967 and the singer was Paddy Reilly of the Dubliners. Beautiful ballad.

That´s lovely, thanks. You get the meaning of that song, or the mood that is in it, across really well. It´s from Scotland, isn´t it?
