Walter is de grootste Muppets fan in de wereld. Samen met zijn vrienden Gary (Jason Segel) en Mary (Amy Adams) ontdekt hij dat de rijke oliemagnaat Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) kwade bedoelingen heeft met de The Muppets Studios. De drie vrienden gaan opzoek naar The Muppets om samen met Kermit, Miss Piggy en alle andere oude bekenden een grote Muppets show te organiseren: "The Greatest Muppet Telethon ever", om zo 10 miljoen dollar op te kunnen halen en The Muppets Studios te redden.
The Muppets draait vanaf 8 februari 2012 in de Nederlandse bioscopen en vanaf 15 februari 2012 in België!
