In the original story, the end is not clear. The two Bralings fight each other, and then in the final scene one of them goes to the room and kisses his wife. Is it the real one or the robot? It's up to the reader to decide. Here, in the movie, it seems to make clear that it's the robot who defeats the origjnal, because you can hear the mechanic sound of the robot in the end.
