  • In answer to rhinnrhinn's question about the Michael Collins film, it was Frank Patterson with the Cafe Orchestra.

  • Oh for todays vocalists to have such passion.

  • Whose version of this song is being sung in the scene in the movie "Michael Collins" when Collins(played by Liam Neeson) and Kitty Kelley (Julia Roberts)are approached by a friend on the dance floor and told that the British Empire has been forced to the bargaining table over Ireland? It was perhaps the most dramatic and moving moment in the entire film.

  • THIS SONG WAS THE B SIDE OF GALWAY BAY BY JOSEF LOCKE,I'VE LOVED IT EVER SINCE.

  • All are superb. Thank you for posting

  • McCormack hands down. He owned this song.

  • Mo chuisle! Right? This is misspelled!

  • Thanks so much for this. Lovely. I think that McCormack has the best version, swiftly followed by Crooks. If you like this you should look up Frank Patterson, in particular his version of the Lass of Aughrim from the film the dead. Tears from a stone!

  • @agormanvideos I know, and many of those nice voices are in your beautiful country. I know because I was in the Capital many many years ago to hear them.

  • @frbjoern There ARE people with nice voices nowadays, but not all of them are famous.
