http://hothardware.com - The folks at Alienware have a different sort of vision for their next alien life form and if you weren't paying attention, you'd almost mistake it for a game console rather than a PC. Looking at the size of the Alienware X51, you'd think the company had to resort to notebook components to get the job done in such tight real estate. However, the X51 is a case study in mechanical design engineering, when it comes to layout, thermal performance and acoustics.

  • All, update here. A PERFECT upgrade to this machine, if you want more GPU horsepower versus the stock GTX 555 that comes with it, would be the new AMD Radeon HD 7870 graphics card. It as a 9.5-inch PCB, so it should fit no problem, and requires two 6-pin PCIe power connections. The X51 has a spare PCIe power plug so that will work too. This card is slightly faster than an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 or AMD Radeon HD 6970. Check our site for a full review on the card. We posted it it today.

  • @cyberboy109 gtx 555 is a slightly detuned 560, for arguments sake i had to choose the 560 if you were to make a build yourself. "no where near" is a total exaggeration. core speed is only 30mhz lower and a slightly lower cuda core count. You seem to be extremely tense in expressing you distaste for alienware products on ALIENWARE VIDEOS. Whats wrong with you? Oh and congrats on boosting your ego sharing laughs with other nerds on a forum....

  • is it possible to slide in a SSD as a secondary internal drive?
