The MegaDrive " Aito ", seems to be an exact replica of the MD Scorpion...These systems were not manufactured, produced , or endorsed by Sega in anyway, shape or form...They are 16 Bit Megadrive/Genesis clones, apparently made somewhere in Korea, sold during the 90's, and distributed in many parts of Europe and South America under different names...
These older clones are exceptional machines, and internally, they are a vivid copy of the real thing..Nothing compared to recent MD/Genesis clones...
Also, many of them already came with region built-in switches, able to play any Genesis/MD cart, and subsequently cheaper than the real deal, making these systems quite attractive during the prime time of the Sega 16-Bit Era...
I got my Aito from an Argentinian fellow gamer, it was totally set in PAL-N Broadcast....The "Scorpion" and "Aito" natively don't have an 8 pin din AV port, therefore no compatibility with the 32X system....In reality, these units support the 32X with no problems, and all of the signals needed are there, they just have to be connected..
I did a NTSC modification to my "Aito" ,and intalled my very own AV port regaining full compatibility with an American 32X system as shown....Want to know more about the modification?...Check this out: http://www.sega-16.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12287
