In the 1990s, Michael Parkinson cast an eye back on some of his most memorable guests and compiled programs with the best of their various interviews. This is the first of three parts remembering Frankie Howerd.

  • @supershinystoat If Parky says it was scripted, I think I would trust his word over yours as it was called "The Parkinson Show" rather than "The supershinystoat show"

sorry if that's confusing for you.

  • RIP Frankie.

  • I love Frankie but Michael Parkinson was suffering when Frank was telling that long joke. LOL.

  • oooo No Missus!!! Pleaze Yaself Nobody Like Him Truly One Of The All Greats [RIP] Frankie

  • I was his dresser for one run in the theatre, he was truly the loveliest gentleman, treated everyone with equal respect.

Continued respect to you Mr. Howerd.

  • Lot of nonsense has been said of Frankie over the years...one of the funniest ever. He clearly is witty and funny without a script here and much of his comedy was natural, had to be natural to work. Once worked in a theatre where the LD related some stories about the stars they've met...he said Frankie was one of the nicest artistes they'd had appear when off stage!

  • Frankie Howards scripts were written by Eric Sykes (see the Plank) another famous english comedian. Down to the "ooh no .....now wait....Ah yes!" bits For proof go to BBC 7 radio and type in Eric Sykes Interviews.

  • Frankie was the supernova in the firmament of 60s comedy. Thanks Frankie for enriching my life with a titter and a giggle! RIP. You are greatly missed!

  • Why the hell did Parkinson ask him "sister's cunt stuffed with cat shit, is this the true taste of home to you?". I mean WTF kind of question is that???
